Taking charge when the Kenya Red Cross confronted significant challenges, Abbas orchestrated a transformative journey, propelling it to become one of the most well-funded and efficiently managed agencies in Africa. His leadership skills and proven track record in managing organizations through complex situations underscore his candidacy, promising a formidable force for positive change within the IFRC.

In his campaign manifesto, Abbas has outlined a comprehensive five-pillar plan that encapsulates his vision for leading the organization. If elected, he commits to prioritizing Financial Stability, unlocking opportunities for both IFRC and National Societies. He also will aim to enhance coordination for humanitarian action, empower the Global South, champion equity and inclusion, and fortify governance while supporting effective coordination within the organization.

Abbas, an award-winning humanitarian leader, is the founder and chair of the E-Plus Ambulances, the  ambulance wing of the Kenya Red Cross , boasting a fleet of 128 ambulances. His innovative, knowledgeable, and systematic approach has garnered global recognition for its effectiveness and impact.
